Now that I'm in my 50s I seem to gain weight on nothing but salad and a crust of bread all day. Not to mention my wife can eat more than me and struggles not to lose weight. If this keeps up I'll have to stop drinking wine even, one of the few pleasure I have remaining!

Exactly, but it's not just us Canucks that eat them. They are also popular in France and parts of Asia.

Same! I just learned that fiddleheads were a Canadian thing. They're ferns! As old as rocks. I figured fiddleheads were near ubiquitous, as a culinary item. Obviously as flora.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

Is there any possible way we could get this thread back on topic of food? Y'all are making me want to stop eating, the antithesis of this threads purpose...

Might as well just give up living at that point.

Sorry, no pictures but I am eating winter borscht. Everything but the locally sourced beef and potatoes are from my garden. I am also eating toasted red fyfe whole wheat bread.

That's from one jalapeno, one Hungarian and one unnamed hybrid (the wider, lighter coloured ones).
