At the suggestion of M. Montaigne, I took a look at deep blue watches. This is the one of their selection that caught my attention. The description states it has a Miyota movement, which I understand to be an ETA clone. Would one expect any kind of functional difference between the two? I understand the similarly Marathon has the swiss eta movement, the very same that was in my former Tissot Seastar. I don't know yet how important this is to me.

It's more than likely a Miyota (AKA Citizen the Japanese manufacturer) 9015 movement

Perfectly good movement - gives the unbiquitous ETA 2824 (which you'd probably have seen in that sort of watch a couple of years back before the ETA shortages) a run for its money.
Not a clone but a competitor.
