I actually had to google that because chuffed reads more like a bad thing than being pleased with something. Reminded me of chapped, or chaffed.

From what I understand of London pricing 3 quid for a pint is a well good reason to be chuffed.

Which is almost $10 for a beer. That's just insane.

Swashbuckler
Fellow drinkers, we are approaching a time of great deliciousness when it comes to libations. In nary a month we will be in the clutches of the superlative food and drink holiday on the planet: Oktoberfest.
It's too late to start brewing your homemade Märzen (lagering should be executed at one degree per day until 45*F is hit and then held for three months), but never fear, the influx of German Bier will be hitting store shelves soon.
Get excited.
Life is better parenthetically.

Some places around here, that's the norm. Hell, I've been to some restaurants where $9 buys you a bottle--yes, not even from a tap--of mid level beer.
Most places, it's like $6, but I've been to some bars/clubs where $9-12 is normal. And people pay it. I can't believe it.

I'd rather pay more for a larger vessel.
