Totally different dynamic in the States since you can't hop on a train for an hour or two and get anywhere unless you're in the Northeast. The issue here is that we span 3 hours of time zones (forget Hawaii and Alaska). If you start the nightly game at 8 Eastern or earlier to make it more family friendly, it's on before the large markets on the west coast have even left work. So those of us in the east deal with late nights, but then again our Sunday NFL games come on at 10am on the west coast, which is not exactly ideal for having beer and snacks with your friends.

I DVR everything these days.

As a student (when one could still get away with it) I used to set my alarm and wake up at 3 am to watch MNF whenever Minnesota was playing (sometimes other games as well). Remember when I was studying in Germany, sitting in bed listening to the radio American forces network to Vikings @ packers MNF '99, when Moss had a field day vs the GB secondary...

Now too convenient to just watch it on Gamepass the morning after

Think about it for me! Liverpool v. Arsenal is next Monday at 3PM. That's the day classes start up again for me. Last year it was no problem; if I rushed, I could generally make it home for a 3PM game. But now I have later classes. It's a nightmare. I'll have to DVR it and media embargo and watch it when I get home or stream it on campus.

I'll be sliding out the back door a little early on Monday to catch the game. Should be worth it if Ozil completes 98 per cent of his passes again though.
