Wow, a coffee drinkers forum. Wouldn't think there would be a demand for such a small niche hobby.

Hey Nokie thanks for the link!

Have you tried this stuff? How'd it go?
Great. Do this all the time. The secret to a good job is a good, well built roaster.

Just like with watch tools, if you go cheap, you get minimal results. Always spend a bit more and get something good, IMHO.

Any recommendations? I was thinking the Hottop Basic looks promising, though spendy.

I've thought about it as I haven't come across many whole bean coffee that I love. I've found plenty that are fine but nothing excellent.

    Hottop Basic
Good choice for the first time. Not inexpensive but very good quality and very durable.

Nesco or Gene would be the other brands for your consideration, but tough to beat a good Hottop.

Good to hear, may have to go with the Hottop. That is, assuming I'm still solvent after making my next acquisition -- a spin bike. 'em thangs is spendy.

Worth the $, but will take a bit of experimenting to dial in the type of roast you prefer, so have patience and pay careful attention to the roasting times.

Try a number of different beans as well until you get what you want, just like buying a watch!

    Good luck.
