Got a couple of floating tea strainers from Finum. Works great.

Is that a hint as to the quality of the tea that goes into teabags?

Totally depends where you buy it, and considering you'll get many more cups out of a packet of loose tea rather than 20 bags
And £3.65 for 500g on my mid-range Turkish stuff :-)
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

Yeah, I do green tea in a glass pot. I've enjoyed gunpowder in the past, my latest taste is for Japanese sencha. Very nice with a few crushed mint leaves :-)

I think the mainstream supermarkets on the whole massively mark up 'luxury' items eg loose tea, ethnic food, spices
Buying them in places where that's just what people eat, eg Chinese and Asian supermarkets, Lidl for European staples like wine, olive oil, you can get quality at great prices
