Probably 40mm and powered by an ETA 2830, but I'm not sure final specs are available. It was originally suggested by a British motoring journalist but Eddie Platts took it through development to production.

Slightly bizarre, maybe, but I think it's kind of sharp looking. The dial might be confusing at first....

Not really. Smiths made clocks, watches and instruments, so it's kind of natural to combine a speedo dial with a watch. Quite a few companies have done similar watches - including Swatch!

Personally I like it. The aesthetic is a good match with old speedos I remember.
It recalls the days when pretty much any British thing with a dial was by Smiths
