We went out for dinner last night, just the two of us. Starters were mushrooms in beer batter and clams with vegetables and cheese.

Main course was three kinds of meat with way too much on the side

    And desert!

Needless to say it was more than enough so this morning I only made a small breakfast

Currently cooking but not finished yet

I eat so much rabbit when I'm at the cabin, I just wouldn't order it in a restaurant. Which is a shame, because a restaurant will prepare it in ways that I couldn't do it my situation. Not that I have it daily, but it's just not the kind of thing you eat frequently. There at lots of hares up there, and the takin's is easy. If I get skunked fishing, then it's usually hare, squirrel, or grouse. Grouse is the easiest to clean/prepare.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

Made one of my favorite sandwiches tonight.

Started out with two slices of Vermont oat bread:

Slather each side with some tzatiki (yogurt) sauce:

Add some capers to one side and a whole bunch of sliced cucumbers to the other side:

And last the main attraction, some Nova Scotia smoked salmon:

Sunday dinner was a lovely sirloin tip with onions and button mushrooms slow cooked for the afternoon in a balsamic sauce I made.

I chunked it and dressed with some fresh chopped Jamaican thyme, served with roasted redskins and sautéd green beans and Swiss chard.

I'm not usually a dessert guy, but I was in a local bakery and one of their in-house chocolate bars caught my eye, and I had a piece of it. Very good.
