If you've not driven a rotary engined car before, I strongly advise you try before you buy - The flat torque band doesn't suit everyone . Took me by surprise the first time I drove one. Oh, and don't expect to be able to carry much in one !
But, if you want a 'point & shoot' car, you could do a lot worse for £4500

I caved, and went for a sensible VW polo 1.2 tsi r line 2012. 104bhp and small and light so pretty nippy. And 40mpg. I could've got 2 rx8s for the £11k, but this has a warranty, free servicing for 3 years, whereas the rotary engine would likely have exploded. Loads of gear, nice inside, 3 doors. The RX-8 is a cheap used buy and not that bad in reliability if treated right. Great to drive too.

    But....they get terrible gas mileage.

I've just been drooling over this and wondering how to get my sticky paws on one. Not road legal but good God what a beast. I'd love to try this out on a track day. :-)
