Congrats to Hazard for winning POY, but more importantly, what the hell is going on with the awful trophies given to Gerrard and Lampard?

Hard to imagine those being given a place of honor on the mantel. Looks like it came out of the same factory as the sporting Jesus statues that I've seen floating around the web (wouldn't the Son of man wear proper football boots?).

Really want Klopp myself, but would he want to come to us?
I have a horrible feeling they'll keep Rodgers because theres no one else out there. He really needs sacking

I don't see why he wouldn't. It's a big club, one of the most recognizable in the world, and it would be a challenge to break the Money Placing.
I would imagine that a manager would like a new challenge. Of course, that may be wrong, since it seems everyone these days want to go where the job has been done already and they can coast.

the premiership is so amazing -Leicester , fourth from the bottom were in a position to beat Chelsea , the champions elect - up until the equaliser you would have given them the points -no league in the world competes with this one - there is never a certainty in this league which makes it so special !

I'm not the biggest soccer (sorry) fan in the world, but you know what I like..no love...about the EPL? I can get up early on a Saturday morning and watch a game being played at the highest level without having my senses assaulted or my intelligence insulted. I'll pour a cup of coffee and tune into a match that's played at its own pace, on a beautiful green pitch, being called by understated and effective announcers...as the fans themselves cheer their teams on. Maybe this is naive, ignorant or pollyannaish but from what I can tell:
- No exploding scoreboards
- No Intrusively loud music designed to pump up the crowd and stop me from chatting with my dad
- No sound effects telling me when to cheer
- No kiss cams and other distractions to keep the multitudes entertained
- No rule compromises to increase scoring so the dimwits don't lose their attention
- Even the unmanly and unsporting diving which plagues the sport is minimized
From where I sit on the west coast the EPL looks like pure sport. Starting with the NBA, then (sadly) the NHL, next the NFL...and finally baseball...140 year-old major league baseball...none of these sports are really for fans anymore. The owners want / need stadiums filled and if takes a club-like atmosphere or the obliteration of long standing and revered records to accomplish that then so be it. I stopped going to games a long time ago and seldom watch them on TV...because...well...you try listening to some White Sox announcer spend an entire inning chatting about the pizza he ate instead of calling the game.
Still hanging in there with the Steelers, but the first game Ben Roethlisberger throws 70 + passes will be my last. That leaves Notre Dame football where the home games are presented much like the EPL...past that there's not enough room on this forum to talk about what a corrupt abomination Division I college athletics has become.
I'm either old(er) and cranky or right. I'm going with the latter.

A win, albeit a sloppy and lucky one. We're still in the fight, but we need West Brom to come up big today.
I still want Rodgers out.
