Baked beans are one of the foods I'm not sure I could live without.

I had it as a side to a meal once or twice. Never much cared for it.

You're in the UK, right? I remember in Layer Cake, when Morty bought that guys some food, he had baked beans and toast on his plate. I thought it looked so out of place with the rest of the food he was eating.

Yeah, UK. It's absolutely a part of British culture, we raise our children on beans (and rightly so, they're cheap, tasty and nutritious)

Some people once did some vaguely serious research into what was the best way of coping with a hangover, what to eat / drink, in what order etc. They said that that the one crucial element was the beans

Meh, to each his own. If your only experience with baked beans starts with opening a can, I can understand. But scratch-made baked beans would be good to any of you, guaranteed. Especially mine, slow cooked and then smoked.
It is now my duty to completely drain you.

My favourite way of doing beans: granary bread, toasted, buttered, and spread with brown sauce. Slice of emmental cheese. Beans ladled on top of that will start to melt the cheese. Use a slotted spoon to avoid getting to too soggy. Nommmmm.

That sounds good. My variant is cheddar on toast with a splash of Worcestershire Sauce toasted into the cheese with the beans on top with a splash of tabasco in them.

Mind you, I'll happily eat cold beans out of the can, Rorschach style.

I don't like beans that much but they're high in protein so I'll take em in my breakfast
