Ah, see, this is why I like discussing headphones even though sound can be such a subjective experience. I have a pair of aging Studio3s, so the Studio Pro seemed like a natural upgrade. But you’re the first person I’ve ever heard complain about the fit of the Studio Pros, so I Googled a comparison. First one I looked at stated the Pros were small and not comfortable for those with larger heads, which I have. I also have statistically significant earlobes, so many headphones don’t cover them completely, the bastards. Great real estate for an earring, but it’s wasted on me as I’m not much one for piercings. I generally feel like my body was built with the necessary holes already installed. But anyway, that’s a good shout that I wouldn’t have known otherwise, so thank you for pointing that out. It kind of immediately rules out the Beats.

I have a set of beats for five or six years, but I'm uncertain of the model. I can get about an hour out of them before they hurt. The sound quality was three times better on them than on the pro studio. The iPod Max supposedly internally has the same parts, and so I would expect them to be just as bad sound-wise, which reviews seem to support. The IPod Max ear pads are larger and rectangular so they may be more comfortable. I had the Sennheiser and the B&W on for two movies straight and both were comfortable without squashing your head. The sound quality was a wow for me, with the B&W being a bit better IMO. When I close my eyes I can imagine where each musician is on the stage and even where people are sitting in the crowd.
