I can't remember which wheels your car has .... but just remember the lower profile tyres have so little sidewall they contribute massively to a harsh/stiff ride.
Coolness (some say) of the larger rims and the lower profiles have a negative effect on ride quality.

But it's not gonna look so cool with all that boy racer kit and fat (not phat) tyres

Mine has 18s and run flat tyres I think. Not sure what profile. You can get 19s but I cannot imagine how bad the ride would be. If I had filling they'd have been shaken out already.
