For years I've held off purchasing one of the attractive Seagull 1963 variants due to reports of quality issues, and of course I finally ordered one and it arrived today acting like a watch built in 1963. The chrono seconds hand doesn't reset to 0. It didn't arrive set at zero, and the two times I've engaged the chronograph since I opened the box, the seconds hand has drifted further and further toward 5! Out of the box, the hand was at 58 seconds, so it's scooting around the dial.

I'm going to return it for a replacement, but I'm wondering, based on your experience, what my expectations should be. I think I've read about the chrono reset issue before. I'd like to feel like I could wear the watch every day to work and it would work fine, but now I'm wondering if it should be considered a novelty.
