It is a mainstay in the South and I think it really caught on a few years ago when some of the more recognized chefs started to pay attention to it.

With maple syrup and smooth texture of the waffles combined with the saltiness and crunch of the chicken, it is really a unique taste, IMHO.

Don't eat them often, but if done right, very delicious.

I've never had them, but there is a place near me that does maple glazed fried chicken.
