Ings is certainly not a world class striker at this point, but nobody can say what he will be able to do when surrounded by PL talent. I forget the exact stats, but Liverpool spent more on Balotelli than Burnley has spent in total player salaries since the 1950s. Granted, his form went to crap in the second half of the season, but he was on a team that spent £4.5m, and was forced to play ugly, defensive football most of the time (hence the yellow cards). I don't think he'll be the next Harry Kane, but crapping on a guy that scored 11 goals on a bottom feeding team seems harsh. Especially considering Liverpool had no players whatsoever who scored double digit PL goals.
