Shallow Grave was a terrific ‘small film’.

Note how I only comment on films that were on TV years ago…

10 Cloverfield Lane -- nothing particularly ambitious but interesting and twisted enough for me to like it, 7/10.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed that one myself. Mary Elizabeth Winstead carries the film, she’s an underrated actress.

Tbh, I didn't see anything remarkable in her acting, I think I'd only known her from Ahsoka before. Goodman was convincing, the other guy less so but passable.

Really? I found her very compelling in 10 Cloverfield Lane. Now in Ahsoka, that was not an impressively acted show, though I did enjoy it because I’m a huge nerd.

She was in Fargo season 3, which is where I believe she met her now husband Ewan McGregor, and stars alongside him in his show A Gentleman in Moscow. She was also Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which is where I first saw her.

Ha, I didn't know all of this, funny I watched a film with Ewan the other day. Fargo the TV programme -- I only watched S01E01 out of curiosity and, having seen the much better feature, figured there was no point in continuing.

I’ve watched much of the series (it’s anthology, so each season is a different cast, though loosely related) and I think season 2 ranks with one of the best single seasons of television I’ve ever watched and I also think season 1 was superior to the movie. Season 3 was so bad that I didn’t watch again until season 5, which I also did not like.

Although, to be fair, I also don’t rate the movie all that highly. It was fine. I liked it well enough, but I didn’t love it.
