It occurs to me that I may be the only one young enough to know who the Thunderlizards are, and even then, they're pretty obscure. The Terrible Thunderlizards was a cartoon within the cartoon Eek The Cat!, about a black ops group of dinosaur mercenaries who were let out of prison and given one task: confirm and end the human threat. I believe Laurent Koscielny may be a direct descendant of them.

I know I've made my feelings known before on the quality of Moreno (or lack there of). So I might be seeing him with those same eyes now.

So I really am curious where you see his improvement?

Both competitive games this season he's been terrible. Same bad positioning, same rash challenges, same instances of trying to be physical and then being out-muscled.

I do think his positioning has been better and he's stayed on his feet more instead of wildly going in. Though he's far from perfect--he made a challenge he didn't need to and it led to Watford's second goal. I think he did better against Hoffenheim, though. Lovren was the major problem, as usual. The whole back line looks jittery, and I think it stems from Lovren's inability to cut out a ball, clear a ball, or make a tackle. Don't get me wrong, I still don't think his main position is LB. He should be playing further up.

That's the rumor, but I don't think it's set in stone yet.

PSG is apparently trying to sell Matuidi. A perfect addition to Liverpool's midfield.

I think the system is partially to blame as well. And the lack of a true DM. With both our fullbacks being told to push forward it leaves huge spaces on the sides of out defense on the counter attack. Since we don't have a proper DM to drop down as a third CB our two remaining defenders are more exposed.

In our 4-3-3 system i don't see a place for Moreno at all. He could work as a winger in a 3-5-2.

His Achilles problem is permanent, apparently. He'll be able to play, but with daily treatment. I like Koscielny, but I'm not sure I'd invest too much in a (nearly) 32 year-old who is likely to have ongoing problems.

Did not know that. Yeah, going to have to pass on that one. What about Jonathan Tah?
