    The Soviet Union began to use combat frogmen during World War 2, from August 1941 early units operated from a base near Leningrad on Deckabristov Island. These units were disbanded at the end of the war and it was not until 1953 that a new naval combat diving unit was formed.

  2. Issue 13 - 1960s German Naval Commando

    This watch is based on the classic Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. One of the worlds best regarded deep sea watches.
    Various models of the fifty fathoms were issued to the West German Bundeswehr Kampfschwimmers (German Navy Combat divers) from the late sixties right through to the mid eighties.
    The MWC version looks like a mix of several models from the period.
