Eaglemoss Military Watches Collection.

The German Armies domination in the first years of World War two was due to its use of Blitzkrieg tactics.
These tactics required accurate timekeeping, and watches supplied by German and Swiss companies like Helvetia were used.
Using highly coordinated and concentrated forces, in unison with Air support and Ground armour, they overwhelmed opposing armies in Poland, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.
The Blitzkrieg also had a devastating effect against Soviet forces, but ultimately the huge resources in both materials and manpower that Stalin was able to command, forced a drain on Germany that was unsustainable, at the cost on both sides of millions of human lives, both Military and civilian.

Polished 34mm case, 36.8mm with crown, 40.2mm lug to lug, 9mm deep.
Case back engraved with description of the watch. 29mm flat glass. 29.2mm interior aperture.
Dial
29mm black dial with white minute scale at outer edge. Hours indicated by green Arabic numbers.
Steel sword style hours and minutes hands, with green luminous infill. Slim straight seconds hand.
Strap
16mm PU leather strap with 14mm polished buckle. 175-220mm fitting




This is a very typical 1940s swiss stye watch and is similar to many others in the MWC

here are issues 8, 10, 15, 16, 24, 35 and 38, with this number 39, all of which represent 1940s and 1950s watches.
