Eaglemoss Military Watches Collection.

From 1939 to 1945 the Royal Canadian Air Force grew to be the worlds fourth largest air force, numbering nearly a quarter million men and women across 86 squadrons
Canadian squadrons and air crew were involved across all types of offensive and defensive roles from Burma in the far east, to Newfoundland and iceland where the performed anti submarine patrols
With no home watch manufacturers to speak of they looked to the US company Waltham, who produced a watch similar to the US Army Air Force model A11, but with a white dial, for Canadian use.



Case
33.1mm plated and polished finish. 35.4mm including crown, 40mm lug to lug, 9.2mm deep. 30.5mm interior aperture.
5mm grooved crown 030.5mm flat glass.
Case backs embossed with Eaglemoss logo and description of the watch.
Dial
30.5mm White coloured dial.
Black printed minute scale at outer edge. Hours indicated by 'vintage' brown colour arabic numerals at 12-3-6-9 and round dots.
Winged badge logo in the upper centre section of the dial.
Pencil style polished finish hours and minutes hand with light brown infill, to imitate the vintage luminous paint, and thin straight seconds hand.
Standard EM Epson AL55a movement.
Strap
18mm nylon strap, 18mm polished buckle, aprox 180-220mm fitting.


Other than the disappointing strap, the usual rough nylon Eaglemoss offering, the watch is a very good representation of the Waltham RCAF watches from the 40s


Strap is easily changed though plain leather would be better
