The Post WWII Royal Australian Navy has been a major force in the southern hemisphere and has been involved in many operations.
It now consists of over 45 commisioned vessels, including submarines, and more than 16,000 staff.
To increase the RAN capability a number of projects are in progress including new helicopters, landing vehicles, better support vessels and more efficient weapons and computer systems.
Even with incresed numbers of women joining the service, Australia are facing a staffing shortage and are recruiting staff from other friendly navies

The Lemania 5100 movement that this watch is based on apears in many military chronographs.
It has proven itself time and again to be reliable, robust and affordable, and have been used by Omega, Heuer, Tutima, Sinn and Orfina amongst others.
At one time the German military would insist on this movement in all thier chronographs. Sadly discontinued they still achieve high prices.
